Abstract
Objective: As the public interest in electromagnetic waves has increased, the amount of electromagnetic waves generated by various electronic products has been increasingly researched. For the purposes of this report, the electromagnetic radiation for the unit chair of dental care, which is used close to the human body, was measured and examined.

Methods: We presents the basic data in order to investigate the problems and analyze directions for improvement by measuring the electromagnetic wave exposure using a measuring instrument (ME3030B, Germany). The test investigated the amount of electromagnetic waves emitted from 30 dental unit chairs of dental clinics in Korea in 2017. They were divided into five areas: on the seat , at light 1 cm, at light 30 cm, at table 1 cm, at table 30 cm. Also, they were divided into two types, electronic field and magnetic field, respectively.

Results: As a result of the experiment, it was measured that the highest value in the electric field was at the table 1 cm as 95.4¡¾116.2 V/m, and the highest value in magnetic field was at the light 1 cm as 1.6¡¾1.5 mG. The decreased rate was observed at all of the measured distances.

Conclusion: Therefore, it is preferable to use a distance of 30 cm or more when using the dental unit chairs.
